DJ Slim joins Alan, aka the Token White Guy, tonight, and immediately causes problems for Alan, who has to decide whether to suspend Slim or not. After Slim apologizes, the guys talk about Lindsay Lohan completing her home confinement and whether she and Winona Ryder will be taking classes together. Former teen heartthrob Aaron Carter recently made claims about the late Michael Jackson, prompting Slim to wonder if someone has a new album coming out. Alan and Slim then talk about a judge in Belfast, Ireland, who takes a kid's Xbox away. The rest of the show is spent talking about the crushing disappointment that America's Next Great Restaurant winner Jamawn Woods must be feeling with the last of his three restaurants closing, not even two months after they opened.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, is joined tonight by FarmVille Rant Radio Show Ranter-In-Chief, DJ Slim. The guys start the night talking about the Justin Bieber attack outsides Macy's flagship New York store today, which prompted Superfan Corey to call in to ask why these things keep happening to Justin. After a brief discussion about Lindsey Lohan's latest troubles, Sports at Night host Chris calls in so Alan can give his opinion about the worst bandwagon fans in all of sports today. Alan and Slim then spend the rest of the show talking about The Voice, including increasing the number of auditions shows next season, upset Sparkle Cows, and Carson Daly's personality.
Rickey from rickey.org joins Alan, aka the Token White Guy, tonight, though Alan is unsure if Rickey has done enough to sit in the co-host chair and asks him to host for his life first. Once that's done, the guys do a few obligatory Weiner jokes. Michael calls in to talk about Xenia, which prompts Rickey to give us some iTunes sales information that we did not know about. That is followed by a conversation about whether Jennifer Lopez should return to American Idol next season, David Cook's naked bum, and whether the whole The X Factor debacle with Cheryl Cole is just a publicity stunt. Alan and Rickey vehemently disagree about just how good the contestants are this season on So You Think You Can Dance. They also disagree about how to respond when your 12-year-old comes to you and says, "I want to twirl fire." Gabe, a rickey.org intern, calls in to reveal a big possible spoiler for the second part of the America's Got Talent Atlanta auditions, which should air next week.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, is happy that the show started perfectly tonight. Unfortunately for him, his microphone isn't broadcasting, so no one can hear him speak. As a result, there is about 10 minutes of dead air followed by a really crappy Glee version of Rebecca Black's song, "Friday." Once the microphone problem is fixed, Antubert calls in to say how nice it is to have IdolBlogLive.com's Queen Angie in the co-host seat tonight instead of Sir Darryl. Antubert also wants to talk about the rumored Jennifer Lopez sex tape. Alan and Angie talk about some of the American Idol news that has occurred over the past two weeks, followed by a discussion about So You Think You Can Dance.
Winning us over in the finale, Andrea Boehlke from Survivor Redemption Island joins us to talk about how the Robfather had his tribe wrapped around his fingers, the status of Mattdrea, and what's next for the Cheese Head Native.
Also, Deb and Mynd argue over whether KIrstie Alley should have won DWTS and the epicness of the Celebrity Apprentice Finale.
Three has become two on American Idol, which means that Alan, aka the Token White Guy, is having a "Celebration" while Sir Darryl is playing Angry Birds again. K-Scam calls in, but isn't in a celebratory mood tonight as she calls Jennifer Lopez a loser, Randy Jackson an idiot, and Steven Tyler a stoner. Michael calls in to celebrate, though, and to remind us that he predicted last night that it would be a Lauren & Scotty finale. TheOfficialSoulPatrol.com Moderator, ChuckRitt, joins the guys to celebrate the night's results, discuss several American Idol news items, and talk about the finale. David from Puerto Rico calls in to say that this will be the most boring finale ever.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, activates the All Digital Radio Network Emergency Alert System at the start of the show because of an asinine TV decision that was made tonight. Sir Darryl agrees that the tonight was asinine. Darryl offers all the listeners some of the popcorn he is once again making during the show. Then a nonstop parade of callers call into the show to talk about American Idol and the sending home of James Durbin and the keeping of Haley Reinhart. Unfortunately for Alan, most of the callers like how the night turned out.
The Idol Radio Show podcast for May 5, 2011
Hosted by the Token White Guy and Sir Darryl
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, opens the show by letting everyone know that his bladder is just fine, but that he may have to run and deal with his runs during the show. Sir Darryl, meanwhile, is trying to ensure that he'll wet himself during the show. Alan plays a fitting tribute to the end of Jacob Lusk's performances on American Idol. Antubert, host of the Live Test Show calls in to talk about popcorn, The Voice, and the American Idol judges. Superfan Corey calls in to ask the guys a couple of questions about how The Voice will differ from the upcoming debut of The X Factor.
59:51 minutes (27.4 MB)
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, starts the show off with a tribute to American Idol evictee, Casey Abrams, which Sir Darryl finds insensitive. Alan makes things right by starting the show over, but Darryl still isn't happy. The guys talk about why the group songs and duets on the show have been so bad, how good Crystal Bowersox was, whether Jacob Lusk's family thinks he stands even the slightest chance of winning the competition, and Jennifer Lopez's new reality series. TheOfficialSoulPatrol.com Moderator, ChuckRitt, joins the guys and proclaims just how happy he was with AI tonight. After a phone call from Michael, the guys talk about how four of the five remaining contestants each seem to have a large group of rabid fans and haters. The guys talk about how Haley may benefit from Casey's departure before acknowledging the royal wedding tomorrow.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, asks for a moment of silence as the Idol Radio Show started in order to pay respects to something that happened that was so very horrible beyond belief. Once the moment of silence was done, Alan then rejoiced at Stefano Langone being sent home, prompting Sir Darryl to once again call Alan insensitive. Tidus calls in and mentions that he tried out for The X-Factor this year. Michael and Antubert, host of the Live Test Show call in to talk about Stefano going home as well as the Carole King "genre" for next week. FarmVille Rant Radio Show host CB Snow joins the guys at the halfway point to talk about American Idol and next week's series premiere of NBC's The Voice.
