The American Idol Top 2 took the stage tonight, and Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl have two completely different opinions about who won.
Tonight's Idol Radio Show starts off with a reminder that the radio show will continue after American Idol ends. Carrie Underwood is the new voice for Sunday Night Football. Nicki Minaj is reportedly leaving American Idol, but Ryan Seacrest is staying.
Long-time listener Michael called into the show to discuss which judges should leave and which should stay. He also said this season had the worst talent pool ever, something that Darryl and Alan don't agree with. The guys then talk about whether the American Idol producers or judges made a concerted effort to keep white guys with guitars out of the competition this season, something that Curtis Finch Jr. says happened.
Alan and Darryl talk about the night's performances, with Alan giving Candice the win in every round. Darryl decides to pretend he took notes about the performances ahead of time when, in reality, he simply wrote down "Kree won all three rounds" after Alan made his proclamation.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl are back on the Idol Radio Show after being sick for the past two weeks, which causes the guys to talk about just how much they needed their mommies during that time. Darryl admits, albeit indirectly, just how much the radio show is the backbone of our home network, the All Digital Radio Network. Darryl then overstates Alan's new age following his birthday today.
Another celebrity has passed away, this time in the form of long-time Young and the Restless cast member Jeanne Cooper. The latest flare-up of the Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj feud is discussed along with the rumors that Mariah threatened not to show up this week. Alan and Darryl then reveal which American Idol contestants they think did the worst, second best, and best tonight. Needless to say, the boys don't agree.
Tonight's Idol Radio Show begins with Alan, aka the Token White Guy, accusing Sir Darryl of trying to sabotage the show.......... again. Alan then makes Darryl apologize to all the affiliates for a stunt he pulled last week. Alan then points out that one of the signs of the apocalypse occurred on American Idol earlier in the night. The guys then talk about Season's 8 Allison Iraheta forming a new group.
The guys then move to The Voice for a bit, talking about the Steal making the Battle Rounds a little more exciting followed by talking about a third edition of the show airing each year. Alan and Darryl then rank each of the American Idol Top 5 performances. As always, they guys don't agree on how well many of the contestants did.
Tonight's Idol Radio Show starts with rants from both Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl regarding last week's American Idol results. Darryl then has the audacity to accuse Alan of telling him in advance that Burnell Taylor was the one voted off last week. The guys then discuss the passing of original Mouseketeer Annette Funicello and how Alan may have been partly responsible for her passing. In tribute, Alan plays "Jamaica Ska," which you can watch after the jump. The guys then discuss the American Idol Top 6 performances and give their reviews. The guys also discuss who will be in the Bottom 2 tomorrow night, who might go home, and whether the judges will use their Save.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, is back on the Idol Radio Show tonight. And he has news that will make Sir Darryl's decade: we pushed Radio Dan, Sir Darryl's sworn enemy, off-the-air in one market. The guys move on to talking about the week's The Voice auditions, including the auditions of Christian Porter and Judith Hill.
At this point in the show, Alan dissolves into a fanboy mess as he talks about the fact that his all-time favorite American Idol finalist, Season 3's Jon Peter Lewis, auditioned on The Voice as part of the duo, Midas Whale.
The guys then move on to American Idol, with Alan ranking the contestants in order from worst-of-the-night to best. Darryl simply gave his, often wrong, opinion when asked. Like normal.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, was out sick for tonight's Idol Radio Show, so DJSlim, owner of our sister site, IdolBlogLive.com, joined Sir Darryl to discuss the American Idol Top 9. The show starts with Darryl forgetting to make Slim's voice able to be heard on air, though considering how much Darryl dislikes Slim, some of us don't think that was an accident.
Alan, aka the Token White Guy, tries to start tonight's Idol Radio Show, but finds out that Sir Darryl is late. Once Darryl finally shows up, Alan asks about Darryl's latest attempt to kill him. The guys then move on to talking about the American Idol Top 10 Performances, which includes Mariah Carey not participating with the other judges, Nicki Minaj losing all credibility with her comments, and why news about Curtis Finch, Jr. thieving past is gaining traction now.
Tonight's Idol Radio Show starts off with Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust." Why? Because Alan, aka the Token White Guy, and Sir Darryl lost one of their childhood TV stars late last week. After Darryl chastises Alan for being insensitive (pot, meet kettle), the guys talk about this week's American Idol performances, ranking both the girls' performances and the guys' performances for worst to best. While there were some agreements, Darryl was off-base for a lot of them. Especially his belief that Zoanette Johnson had the best performance Tuesday night. *shudder*
There is a Forehead Vein Warning overshadowing tonight's Idol Radio Show as Alan, aka the Token White Guy, is all riled up about something that happened on American Idol tonight. Sir Darryl, on the other hand, is worried that we can hear him popping popcorn. The guys, however, start the commentary section of the night talking about ABC's Dancing with the Stars and the latest crop of contestants.
American Idol has announced the song that will play as the going-home song this season, the video of which you can watch after the jump.
After the break, Alan and Darryl talk about Mariah Carey's lack of effort as a judge, prompting Darryl to once again call for her to be let out of her contract. The guys then rank the girls' performances from worst to best, with, as usual, Alan and Darryl failing to agree about who was worst and who was best.
Has Sir Darryl been arrested? Something is up as the Idol Radio Show gets underway, making Alan, aka the Token White Guy, think that there is a bright light being shined in Darryl's eyes. Somehow this leads to a quick history of how Alan became the Token White Guy and, ultimately, the host of the show. Darryl takes Alan then talk about tattoos and earrings and the pains they can cause, which is why neither of them have gotten their respective desires.
DJSlim, IdolBlogLive.com owner and host of the FarmVille Rant Radio Show, calls in and proceeds to take up the next 25 minutes of the show talking about how disappointed he is with American Idol allowing spoilers of who went into the Top 20 to be released instead of doing the results of the judges' decisions live. This leads to a discussion about how the ratings for American Idol has dropped as well as a long discussion about why the show hasn't produced 10 superstars.
Alan and Darryl then talk about tonight's American Idol Las Vegas performances, ranking the 10 girls in the order of how they performed. Needless to say, Alan and Darryl don't agree all that much. Especially when it comes to a Lady Gag Gag rendition that almost has Alan liking a song he hates.
